FMX is a new anti-fouling membrane system based on the simple, yet innovative concept of using vortices to prevent fouling of the membrane for high density, high viscosity, and high solid applications. It is available as either a multi-stack disc membrane filter in a coated steel housing (FMX-S), or a fiber glass housing (FMX-E).
Standard FMX-S is available in either 304 or 316 stainless steel and can be equipped with any commercially available flat sheet MF, UF, or NF grade membranes. Stainless steel based pilot (FMX-P) and bench scale (FMX-B) models are also available for R&D purposes. The FMX-E, an economic version composed of fiberglass and plastic is now available for low pressure applications using MF and UF membranes.
FMX has been used for various applications, including chemical, industrial, oil, digestate, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and others. With more exciting developments in the works, we believe that FMX will be a standard technology for challenging separation and recovery applications.
